About

Penmark is a small journal kept in public.

It is written, slowly, by one person, in the time around other obligations: early mornings before the family wakes, late evenings after the day has settled, and the occasional stolen Saturday afternoon at a quiet table.

What this is

The essays here are about the small disciplines that shape a working life. Writing daily. Reading carefully. Choosing tools that ask less of you. Paying attention to attention.

There is no schedule. New writing appears when something is ready to be said, and not before.

What this is not

This is not a newsletter for productivity advice. It is not a feed. There are no tags, no comments, no analytics dashboards. If a piece is useful to you, please keep it. If it is not, please ignore it. Either way, thank you for reading.

Get in touch

If you would like to write back, you can. The address is on the page. I read everything, slowly, and I reply when I can.

A journal is a long conversation with whoever is still listening.
